  • All Star Weekend Youth Sports Entertainment & Personal Development Summit

    Teens Exercising Extraordinary Success had the pleasure of hosting several Houston middle and high school students from Ryan Middle and Elevated Places, for a free sports, entertainment and personal development summit, on Saturday, February 16th, at the Third Ward Multi Service Center.   The teens were given an opportunity to learn firsthand about the many back office careers available in the sports and entertainment fields.  Additional topics included appropriate dress, etiquette, financial literacy, responsibility and accountability. 

    Participating as panelists for the summit were Luther Campbell aka Uncle Luke, Wendell Haskins (celebrity stylist and founder of Original Tee, Inc.), Jeff Sanchez (NBA), Keith Clinkscales (former SVP at ESPN and founder of The Shadow League), Jameel Spencer (SVP at RocaWear and Chief Marketing Officer at IconxBrand), Adam Walker (Eastbay) Curtis Hobdy (VP Operations/trading compliance Morgan Stanley), DJ Eque (97.9 The Boxx), Braxton Welford (Running Back at University of Houston), Kristin Campbell (entertainment lawyer),  and Dr. Akili Graham.  Miss Houston 2013, Zoe Cadore, made an appearance to speak with the youth about her experience in entertainment.  Houston artists’ DJ Chose and Lil KeKe also stopped by to sign autographs for the teens participating. 

    Participants received swag bags courtesy of PitBulls’ Imaginate Foundation which included back packs from Scout by Bungalow, B4 Products hand sanitizer, personal care products from Philosphy, school supplies from Newell Office Products and Tailored Hearts NPO, coupons from the Space Center of Houston, Emergen-C packets, and much more.  Door prizes were provided by Finger Furniture, Houston Space Center, Sprout Eco Friendly Watches, NBA, and Amy’s Ice Cream.  Lunch was provided by Abby’s Catering, beverages supplied by The Ultimate Goodness, and TechAve graciously donated a private lounge set up for the panelists.  One of a kind artwork was displayed throughout the facility courtesy of Houston artists, Linda Simien Kelly and Kenya Clark of Art3Sixty.   Jack Yates Class of 1982 held a raffle to benefit this summit.  The drawing was held and 2 supporters received a 40” LCD and 4 Disney Anaheim Park Passes (Kenneth Daggs & Terry Shaw).  Check Out Pictures Here
